Soroptimist International of Modesto celebrated their 75th diamond anniversary on Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Charity Way Ballroom in Modesto.  The theme for the evening was “75 years…Building a Community through Service”.  Members of the club highlighted the club’s contributions to the communithy during the evening, as well as thanking all thoses who helped them over the years, including community leaders, donors, volunteers, partners, supporters, members, family and friends.

The club’s actual charter date is November 28, 1936 and the members of Soroptimist International of Stockton chartered the club.

Soroptimist International, a worldwide service organization, is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout  the world.  Currently their local major service projects include: the Soroptimist Commnity Christmas Tree at Vintage Faire Mall, the Live Your Dream Event each March for middle school girls: Youth Literacy Project; their cash awards and scholarhip program;  the MOMoble (Medical Outreach Mobile; and the Salvation Army Collaborative  Medical Center.
