Desdemona Martinez Memorial Scholarship

Requirements:

1. Must be a female, 18 years of age or older

2. Must intend to major in an education related field.

3. Must be a high school senior or a community college first year student.

4. Must be enrolled in or have applied to a community college.

5. Must demonstrate significant involvement in community service/volunteerism/tutoring activities.

6. Must have a disability and/or career plans that involve working with students with disabilities.

7. Must complete the application in full, including a 500 word essay.

8. Must live in Modesto or attend school in Modesto.

9. Must have a GPA of at least 2.5.

10. Must provide 2 references, including letters of recommendation.  One reference must be from a school counselor or teacher and the other from a representative of a volunteer organization.
