Welcome to Soroptimist International of Modesto, (SIM), a 501(c)3 non-profit service organization. We are part of a worldwide organization, Soroptimist International. Our members strive to achieve the mission by sharing our time, talents and financial resources to enrich our communities.
Mission: Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
Vision: Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams.
While giving back to our community is our primary focus, weekly meetings offer professional opportunities and networking for our members. We also provide several scholarships and awards which are given each year to high school and college age students.
So·rop·ti·mist [ sə róptimist ] (plural So·rop·ti·mists): from Latin words “soro” and “optima”, meaning the “Best for Women”
