On November 28, 1936, Soroptimist International of Modesto was chartered and began serving the community of Modesto, California. You can also visit us on Facebook at “Soroptimist International of Modesto, Best for Women” where you will find information on our upcoming events and projects.
Today, we are part of a worldwide organization with 76,000 members with clubs located in over 100 countries. Soroptimist International has been recognized as Non-governmental organization (NGO) by the United Nations since 1984. As a NGO, the organization has consultative status with the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations and is recognized as an authority on matters that women value most. Our governing Federation is Soroptimist International of the Americas.
